Richard Sherman has been getting the lion’s share of the attention since his Seattle Seahawks won the NFC championship last weekend. Sherman’s spirited postgame interview made for great entertainment and subsequent debate, but it is — thankfully — fading.
Maybe, it affords us the opportunity to focus a little bit on the Seahawks’ Derrick Coleman, who told his story a few weeks ago in a Duracell commercial. He’s hearing impaired.
It’s a nice story, made better by today’s confirmation that he’s no football phony.
On Tuesday, the father of a hearing-impaired girl tweeted this beautiful letter.
@Seahawks @DC2forlife you've inspired my little girls in a way I never could. THANK YOU! #Seahawks #SuperBowlXLVIII pic.twitter.com/lhpJfCPOSD

And yesterday, Coleman tweeted back his own…
@JakeIsMobile Your girls are awesome! Read them my letter back when you can! Thank you for the support! Means a lot! pic.twitter.com/9x5tQQwNbk
