It’s not hard to figure out why. National reporters just can’t seem to get over the idea that the guy was once on Saturday Night Live.
Think of all the possible things that ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos could have talked to Franken about during the show yesterday — the first time Franken has granted a Sunday interview.
The big shots couldn’t help it. They framed it around being a comedian, replete with puns about comedy.
Net neutrality? It got 5 seconds of time.
Franken sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee, which will have plenty to say about the Comcast-Time Warner merger.
To its credit, CBS News extended enough respect to Franken to talk to him about the issue for more than 4 minutes in March. But the lightweights just couldn’t let it go.
