This is an interesting map the Census Bureau provided today showing the foreign-born population as a percentage of each state’s population in 1970.
This is the same report in the 2010 Census:
Minnesota went from about 2.6% to over 7%.
Demographers Elizabeth Grieco and Rob Margetta were on C-SPAN today, with Grieco bringing up an interesting point: The percentage of the population that is foreign-born is lower than during the period of “the great migration.”
