Liz Wahl, an American, quit on the air this afternoon.
“I cannot be part of a network funded by the Russian government which whitewashes the actions of Putin,” Wahl said. She said her grandparents emigrated from Hungary to the U.S. to escape oppression at the hands of the Soviet Union. “I’m proud to be an American, and believe in disseminating the truth. And that is why, after this newscast, I’m resigning.”
Earlier this week, another American anchor editorialized on air against the Russian move into Crimea, although she did not quit.
