Evelyn — we don’t know her last name — lost her driver’s license because somebody decided she was too old. She’s 97. “I was heartbroken,” she says. “It made me feel old; it made me feel useless.”
Then the bus that served her retirement community was eliminated and people had no way to get to the grocery store twice a week, she says.
“A lot of people were stuck around here, like my neighbor Joyce,” she says in this video. “She said if there’s not another bus, they’ll find another place for me to live. She said, ‘I just don’t want to go anywhere else.'”
So she fought to get her driver’s license back.
