MPR News has added John Enger to the staff as a reporter. He’ll be working for the website out of Bemidji, Minnesota
He comes from good North Woods stock that recognizes the value of ice out.
It’s a testament to how long in the tooth some of the old-timers in MPR lore are getting. He’s the first second-generation reporter at Minnesota Public Radio.
His old man is former MPR News reporter Leif Enger, who could string a sentence or two together himself and who holds the NewsCut award for the greatest story lede in the history of MPR News. “Between PETA and fake fur, it’s a good time to be a beaver in Minnesota.”
Enger the younger comes to MPR News from the Schenectady Gazette in New York.
