Bob CollinsIn the springtime in La Crosse a young person’s fancy turns to not stepping on all the needles and syringes on the sidewalks.
WKBT reports the fire department is getting plenty of calls from people finding hypodermic needles in their neighborhoods as the snow has melted.
It is, apparently, the same problem the city had last year.
“The big concern we really have is that we have a lot of children out playing around now especially since the weather is nice now. The last thing we want to see is a child picking one of these up and and getting stuck with a needle and you know having the possibility of contracting some sort of communicable diseases,” said La Crosse Fire Lt. Jim Hillcoat.
