Being a cop was a good life for Brooklyn Center police commander Brian Peters. So this week he gave away the money he earned on his last day on the job, KARE 11 says.
Peters bought gift cards from retailers, then spent the day giving them out to people.
“I am just looking for anyone that may be coming in with kids and surprise them with an extra $50 to get some groceries,” he told the station. “The citizens and city have been wonderful to me. I am very blessed so it feels good to always give back.”
Peters is leaving the department after 14 years to work for Target.
