We have our first political ad using the Paris bombings.
David Vitter, who is running for governor of Louisiana, unveiled this ad today.
Politics in Louisiana is pretty dirty (and occasionally corrupt) to begin with, so Vitter’s ad isn’t very surprising.
His opponent, John Bel Edwards, isn’t exactly warm and cuddly in his ad, either. His alleges that Vitters likes prostitutes more than dead soldiers.
The run-off election later this month should provide a clear indication what effect the Paris bombings will have on campaigning. Polls taken before last Friday show Edwards with a decisive lead in the race.
