U of M football disarray costs it a 4-star recruit

The University of Minnesota football program can never seem to get out of its own way.

On Sunday evening, coach Tracy Claeys, who took over when former coach Jerry Kill’s epilepsy flared anew, fired assistant coaches Matt Limegrover and Jim Zebrowski.

“I have decided to make a change that will better fit my offensive philosophy, which is to have one coordinator calling the plays,” Claeys said in a statement.

Today, however, offensive lineman Sean Foster has decided Minnesota isn’t for him. Not anymore.

He was offered scholarships by 26 Division I schools and took Minnesota’s offer after he was recruited by Limegrover.

Foster was rated a four-star prospect.

“When I went up there, I really liked it,” Foster said after his April visit. “It was the perfect fit for me and my family. We couldn’t stop talking about it. Right then and there, we were like, ‘This would be a great fit for me.’ ”

In his “no thanks” tweet today, Foster appeared to have the art of the backhanded compliment down pat.
