East Coast shows Midwest how to have fun in snow

Sigh.

Sure, the airports were closed, people who didn’t pay attention to the forecast got stuck for 24 hours on a highway, and nobody in the neighborhoods of New York has a prayer of getting their cars unstuck today.

But, the East Coasters are having fun with winter.

Up and down the coast, the new “thing” of putting on your bathing suits and diving into the snow is taking root.

Meanwhile, back in flyover country, it’s time for the St. Paul Winter Carnival, which this year will feature 40-degree temperatures which could ruin the ice-carving competition, WCCO reports. There wasn’t ice to harvest on Lake Phalen this year, so organizers had to buy it.

They had to buy ice. In Minnesota. In the winter.
