There’s so much more to the recently-concluded Minnesota State High School hockey tournament than hockey hair, and couple of filmmakers have perfectly captured the essence of late winter in the state of hockey.
For the record, there’s very little hockey in the film. In Minnesota, there’s a lot more to hockey than hockey.
The film is produced by Nick and Chris Libbey, a couple of kids who grew up in Minnetonka and — you’ll want to sit down for this — didn’t play hockey, the Pioneer Press’ Mary Divine reveals.
“I’m probably the worst ice skater ever,” Nick told her. “I was a wrestler (140 pounds) in high school. But as a documentarian, there is a benefit to coming in from the outside.”
