This week’s StoryCorps segment on NPR’s Morning Edition was a perfect conclusion to the week during which an uplifting moment came — as I described here — when a grown-up sat down with a young boy.
Today’s segment described the uplifting result when a young boy sat down with grown-ups.
Last year, Ceceley Chambers visited a Massachusetts home for people with memory loss. As a chaplain who has worked with seniors and hospice patients, Chambers knew the residents liked having kids around.
She just wasn’t sure her 9-year-old son, William, would feel the same about being there.
Kids today, eh?
