Candidate’s issue in race for attorney general: genitals

Perhaps a candidate for Michigan attorney general has given us a glimpse of what we’re in for in TV ads during the 2018 campaigns.

In an ad released this week, Dana Nessel asked, “Who can you trust most not to show you their penis?”

Nessel, a former Wayne County assistant prosecutor, made a name for herself as the lead attorney in DeBoer versus Gov. Rick Snyder, which challenged the bans on adoption and marriage for same-sex couples in Michigan. The case was one of the ones that led the U.S. Supreme Court to legalize same-sex marriage.
