Jean Cochran, the Morning Edition newscaster, announced via Twitter today that she’s leaving.

Buyouts generally mostly affect the veteran employees. That’s certainly true in Cochran’s case. She began with NPR in 1989 when it started a unit to do the hourly newscasts and is the unit’s longest-serving employee.
