Lillian Weber makes a dress each day as she sits by the sewing machine in her Iowa farmhouse.
“I could probably make two a day, but I only make one,” she tells WQAD TV in the Quad Cities.
She sends them to people she doesn’t know in Africa.
She hopes to make 150 more dresses by May 6, which will be the 1,000th dress she’s made. It will also be her 100th birthday.
“Too schmaltzy?” our pal, Derek Schille, asked when he sent the story to us today.
As if there is such a thing.
