Ethel Weiss has died, WBUR in Boston reports today.
She was 101 and deserved a good, long retirement. But she didn’t want a good, long retirement; she wanted to go to work every day.
And so she did.
If you were a six-year-old kid buying candy when she first started selling it, you’re 82 now.
“She looked forward to seeing everyone,” her daughter Janice White of North Port, Fla. tells the Boston Globe. “It was truly a pleasure for her to be there. Yes it was work, but it was work she loved. She truly loved her customers. You didn’t even have to come in the door. You could just look in, wave, and she was happy.”
