The Bartz boys of New Brighton are at it again.
Every year for the last few years, they’ve made huge snow sculptures in their front yard on 16th Avenue Street NW., during their winter break from school
El Nino threatened to put a stop to the streak but last week’s snowfall put them back in business, they report on their Facebook page today.
There’s a technique involved here, of course.
First, you shovel the snow into the garage to heat it up a little…
Then you start packing it until it reaches about 18 feet, which would be the highest you’ve ever gone.
Then you start sculpting it while people wonder what the heck it is.
It won’t be long before we find out. The kids say they’ll be done by the end of the week.
It’ll be some sort of sea creature, if their past sculptures are any indication. Also, last fall they posted that they got the idea for this year’s art from a behind-the-scenes tour of the Minnesota Zoo.
