Two-minute pat-down over juice box in carry-on

Truer words were never spoken than the ones from a Transportation Security Administration officer when a man’s daughter underwent a two-minute pat-down because she had a juice box in her carry on.

“We don’t live in a make-sense world,” he said of the security show.

The child’s father, Kevin Payne, is calling it an overreaction and inappropriate intrusion, KNSD TV in San Diego reports.

“My goal was just to clear security as quickly as possible so we could make our flight even though I knew that in my mind they shouldn’t be doing what they were doing,” Kevin Payne said. “I didn’t want to make an issue of it there or then because it wasn’t the time or place and I didn’t want to further traumatize my daughter.”

“I know it’s to keep everyone on the plane safe but she kept patting me down … over and over,” said Vendala Payne, 10.

In a written statement, the TSA said the effort “followed approved procedures.”
