In St. Charles, thy name is ‘good sport’

In St. Charles, Minn., gateway to Whitewater, there lives a young woman who was raised properly.

The school system’s athletic director, Scott McCready, shared a letter on Twitter that he received from the parents of an unnamed player from an unnamed school thanking him for the sportsmanship shown by an unnamed player on an unnamed middle school soccer team.

Let the record show that it’d be just fine with us if someone in the know slips us the name of the young woman who deserves some recognition.

As an aside, we have to think a bit more about the idea of forcing a kid to play a sport if she doesn’t like athletics, but perhaps that’s a post for another time.

As for the young men on some school teams in the state, try to keep up.

The Star Tribune reports today that the Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop football team is forfeiting its next two games because of violations of the school hazing policy involving unnamed specifics and unnamed players.
