Here’s what it sounded like after American Airlines Flight 383 was cleared for takeoff. (Audio via LiveATC.net)
The Chicago Tribune says the plane blew a tire while taking off although American Airlines reportedly said it was an engine-related issue. The flight to Miami carried 161 passengers and a crew of nine. There are no reports of injuries.
In this video, note the number of passengers and the American Airlines crew running to the emergency slide (and the fire) to help other passengers jumping out of the plane.
