A plane crashed in Ontario, Canada, last week between Thunder Bay and Sault Ste. Marie — and it’s a mystery so far. There was no body at the crash site, and no tracks in the snow. Where’s the pilot?
An unidentified University of Michigan student rented the plane in Ann Arbor for a flight to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula but overshot his destination and ended up in Canada. It’s believed the plane ran out of fuel.
Sgt. Peter Leon, media coordinator for Ontario police, tells Michigan Live there’s no indication the pilot was in the plane when it crashed.
“When [the pilot] exited, and how [he] exited, is still a mystery,’ senior investigator Peter Rowntree tells the Daily Mail.
