Today’s daily dose of sweetness comes from a nursing home in Oakdale, Pa., where Theresia Brandl, 105, doesn’t have many regrets.
But she has one: She never finished high school.
The local high school took care of that yesterday.
There were 10 kids in her family, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette says, and when her mother got sick, her father gave her two choices: give up school and take care of mom, or continue her education.
She took care of her mother.
She meant to go back to school but by the time her mother died, a war had broken out, her husband went off to fight and she took care of their daughter.
Life has a way of coming at you, and the next thing you know, you’re 105.
