Peter Butera, the class president at Wyoming Area Secondary Center in Exeter, Pa., had cleared his commencement speech with the proper authorities, and then decided to make a stand instead, the Washington Post says.

The principal mouthed something to someone offstage.

The microphone was shut down.
“The young man submitted his graduation speech to his principal and delivered a speech different than the speech that was submitted,” the school superintendent told the Post.
