In southwestern Minnesota, a Hills-Beaver Creek High School football player was paralyzed while playing in a game against Mountain Lake on Friday night.
Trenton Bass, of Hills, Minn., a running back on the team, was motionless after a tackle.
“You hear about the kids that get paralyzed, but you never really think about it as much until it happens to a teammate and a friend,” Hills-Beaver Creek football player Preston Massen told KELO.
He had broken two vertebrae. Surgery late Friday night stabilized the vertebrae but he has no feeling below his sternum, the Luverne Area Chatter Facebook page reported.
An update this morning on a fundraising site, however, reported he has regained some feeling in his torso.
