A tap on the shoulder and a ‘thank you’

Here’s today’s daily dose of sweetness.

World War II veteran Harold Zilmer of, Minot, N.D., was walking around the World War II memorial in Washington this week. He was on an Honor Flight, which flies veterans to the memorial and back on the same day.

Someone tapped him on the shoulder, WDAY says.

It was a visitor from Israel. His grandmothers were both liberated from Auschwitz. He thanked Zilmer. “For me, it’s personal,” he said.
