When a generation stole babies

It was good to catch up with some old classmates at my high school class’ 45th reunion a few months ago.

The usual reunion discussions in reconnecting with friends included one unique to my generation: What happened to the baby that girls gave up under tremendous pressure in high school?

It was known as the “baby scoop era”, KARE 11’s Jana Shortal said in her piece last night on Barb Larson , who gave birth to a boy in August 1970, then wasn’t allowed to see him. An adoption had been arranged without her knowledge.

This is the way things were back then; the sort of thing that makes us shake our heads now.

Barb Larson is looking for her son.
