A St. Cloud football player shows how to apologize

You know how it is. Sometimes you just get caught up in the moment and do something stupid. It happens, particularly with kids.

So let’s give a break to Brad Reuter, the captain of St. Cloud Cathedral High School who was racing to catch Zimmerman running back Camerin Morey when he finally caught him at the 12-yard line. Good tackle.

One problem: Reuter wasn’t in the game. He ran in from the sidelines to make the play.

Let’s go to the tape.

The scoreboard explains where the frustration may have come from.

Zimmerman won the game 53-to-20. Cathedral is winless.

Young Reuter is a stand-up kid, which explains why he’s captain of the team.

Reuter will not be punished because that’s how you apologize for a mistake.
