Robert Kelly wants you to know he loves his kids and he wasn’t mad at them for making him into an Internet sensation.
He and his family have been laying low since last week’s interview with the BBC, before which he forgot to lock the door of his home office in South Korea.
But he broke his silence today with an interview with the Wall St. Journal.
“We stonewalled because we didn’t know what to do,” Kelly said. Sudden Internet fame is like that. We like adorable.
Reporters even tracked down his parents in Cleveland. So tomorrow, he and his family will hold a news conference in South Korea.
“I mean it was terribly cute,” Kelly said. “I saw the video like everybody else. My wife did a great job cleaning up a really unanticipated situation as best she possibly could… It was funny. If you watch the tape I was sort of struggling to keep my own laughs down. They’re little kids and that’s how things are.”
“Yes I was mortified, but I also want my kids to feel comfortable coming to me,” Mr. Kelly said.
“I made this minor mistake that turned my family into YouTube stars. It’s pretty ridiculous.”
