In hurricane zone, man gives up the last generator

Here’s your daily dose of sweetness:

In Florida, the people who aren’t evacuating are preparing to withstand whatever Hurricane Irma has planned for them.

That includes Pam Brekke, of Sanford, who drove 30 miles to a Lowe’s when she heard the store was getting a shipment of 216 generators.

Her father needs power for his oxygen.

But Brekke was the 217th person who showed up at the store.

Number 216 was Ramon Santiago, who had the last generator.

Until he gave it to Brekke.

“She needs the generator,” Santiago told WFTV-TV. “It’s OK.”
