There are precious few examples in the United States anymore of our motto — E pluribus unum. This is one.
Look at these beautiful faces, who came to the United States from different situations from all around the planet and today became American citizens in one of two ceremonies at the Fitzgerald Theatre in St. Paul.
How far they came, how hard they worked, and how proud they must be to have finally heard the words, “you are citizens of the United States of America.”
Earlier this month, The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services revised its website to remove any reference to the USA being a nation of immigrants.
But we are.
