The city of Faribault, which had asked gawkers to stay away, has posted this video of the destruction and while there are some planes that can be repaired, the majority shown are likely to be totaled out by the insurance companies.
The hangars can be rebuilt, but the nation’s general aviation fleet is pretty old and the cost of new airplanes is out of the reach of a lot of owners of old ones.
In time, perhaps, many of the owners might be able to find similar used planes on the market.
Meanwhile, the airport’s runway is still operational.
