LeBron James makes a star out of a grumpy subway rider

LeBron James, arguably the greatest basketball player of all time, took the subway to his hotel when he and his Cleveland Cavaliers teammates arrived in New York to play the Knicks last night.

Guess who ended up being the star of the video James posted on Twitter? Hint: He doesn’t play basketball.

“I noticed a bunch of tall guys getting in the train, but I was listening to U2 and I didn’t want to be filmed,” James Michael Angelo tells USA Today.

Again: He was sitting next to arguably the greatest basketball player of all time.

“To be honest with you, they got on and they completely squished me and he was really unaware of his space,” Angelo said.

“It was first thing in the morning,” he said. “I hadn’t finished my latte and I didn’t feel like being filmed. Plus, it’s not good lighting in the subway.”

Angelo is a comedian and real estate agent, neither of which has made him the star he is today, making the rounds of the TV talk shows to explain himself.
